A Special Gift For A Chef

My wife is a trained chef and yes, I do feel like the luckiest guy in the world since she creates her special dishes at home for us on a regular basis. Her birthday is next month so I decided to start picking up some presents a little early. She has mentioned several times that our Cutlery Set needs to replaced, so I decided that a new one would be the ideal gift. She has mentioned your site before, so I knew that you would carry sets that she will appreciate. I found one that I think she is going to be thrilled with and ordered it right away. I can hardly wait for her special day to arrive now so that I can surprise her with this awesome gift.

Setting Up a Buffet Table With Chafing Dishes

How to Set Up a Buffet Table at a Party With Chafing Dishes

How to Set Up a Buffet Table at a Party With Chafing Dishes thumbnail
Keep food separate when organizing a buffet table.
Chafing dishes are tools used to keep food warm after it has been cooked. Place them on a buffet table so your guests can serve themselves hot food even when they come back for seconds or thirds. It is important to arrange a buffet table in a manner that is easy for guests to access. Chafing tables should be easy to reach and in a logical order. For example, many guests prefer to start a meal with a cool salad before having the hot food. Group dishes that go with the hot food, such as buns, near the chafing tables.

Instructions

Center chafing dishes in the middle of the buffet table, and put the other dishes in a circle around the chafing dishes. This works best on a wide table with plenty of room. Add a block to the center of the table to elevate the chafing dishes if desired.

Organize the food on the table so that the hot food, including chafing dishes, is at one end and the cool food is at the other. This helps guests choose food in the order that they want to eat it. For example, if a guests wants to eat salad first, they can get the salad ingredients at the far and then get the hot food after.

Add a small table at the end of the main buffet table so it forms a "T" shape. Put the chafing dishes on this table. This gives the chafing dishes more room and also allows you to slide any cords between the two tables and out of the way. Use the extra table if you have a lot of food or large chafing dishes.

    Memories Of a Sauce Pan

Based on cooking most of my life my estimation of the common sauce pan is high. My recollection is that at the age of 10 or so I would boil water in a sauce pan to make hard boiled eggs to bring to school for breakfast. It heated up my lunch soup, cans of vegetables, and the sauce for my linguini. This simple pan does a lot of stove work for our meal preparation. And the wonderful thing is that they don't cost much. In fact even good quality ones are inexpensive. Check them out at jocarkitchenware.com. Having a high estimation for an item of cookware is a good thing!

    Cookware Sets

After having my old Cookware Set for over 10 years, I decided that it was finally time to get a new one. I looked around at the stores in our area, but I didn't find exactly what I had in mind. I came home and started looking online. I am happy to say that I found your site that had all that I was looking for and more. You seem to carry the most exceptional cookware sets made at the lowest prices I have seen. I had a hard time choosing only one, but I finally did and once it arrived at my place, I was highly impressed. I'm going to be shopping here for all of my kitchenware from here on out.

    Stoneware Baking Benefits

Stoneware is siliceous paste, containing silica, fired at a high temperature to form hard pottery that can be used in cooking. The material is heavier and darker than porcelain or terra-cotta cookware. The unique combination of a nonporous surface and the ability to withstand high temperatures makes stoneware baking pans or other kitchen products ideal for cooking and serving.

    Durable

Stoneware is made from textured white clay that is stronger than regular clay used in porcelain or other ceramics. It is coated with a glaze and fired at extreme temperatures to create a glazed cooking pan. It can withstand high oven temperatures and is sturdy and chip resistant. Stoneware can handle a wide range of temperature changes and can be used in the refrigerator, microwave or dishwasher. Refrigerated foods in stoneware baking pans can be placed directly from the refrigerator into the oven. While stoneware is extremely durable, it will break if dropped.

    Easy to Clean

Because glazed stoneware is nonporous and coated with an enameled surface, it is easy to clean -- food does not stick to the surface -- and it does not scratch. The enameled surface also ensures that it will not retain stains or absorb moisture, which can cause pans to smell. Unlike coated cooking pans, stoneware pans can be cleaned using scrubbing brushes.

    Food Friendly

Stoneware cooking pans do not absorb flavors from foods, which can affect other types of ingredients flavors. Food flavors are unaltered when using stoneware-baking pans. This allows the natural food flavors to mix while cooking without being affected by the cookware.

    Attractive

Stoneware is made from clay and comes in many bright colors. The clay itself tends toward the gray color, but it can be glazed in many colors including white. It is an opaque material and cannot be made into a transparent baking dish. Stoneware baking dishes come in all shapes and sizes, from round baking pans to oblong baking dishes with easy-grip handles.

    Safe Cooking Material

Glazed stoneware baking pans made in the United States and Canada do not use glazes that contain lead, cadmium or other harmful substances, which makes it a safe cooking material. It does not outgas -- or release into the air -- any harmful substances like some coated nonstick pans do when heated in the oven. Always follow the manufacturer's recommended use and handling instructions.
